Vieques is one of the Spanish Virgin Islands about seven miles off the east coast of (and part of) Puerto Rico. Click here “Fly or Ferry?
” for options on how to get to Vieques from San Juan. And here for a “MAP“.
Casa de Amistad is located in the heart of the town of Isabel Segunda
. We LOVE the town, but it is not to everyone’s expectation of a “resort” town. Isabel ll is a real Puerto Rico/Spanish pueblo. Home of some of the best local (and resort) restaurants on the island, just a block from the main plaza and two blocks from the ferry terminal. We are close to everything you may need from waterfront dive bars to upscale restaurants and art galleries; the grocery store, post office and the mayor’s office just blocks away. There are a couple of atlantic shore beaches within walking distance, but we are not located on the beach. The best beaches are located in the Wildlife Refuge and so it is recommended to budget for an automobile for at least part of your stay so that you can explore many of the hidden beaches and secrets of the island. Otherwise, bikes, scooters, taxis and publicos are available to help you navigate the island.
Directions from the Ferry: Turn RIGHT and walk across a small yellow bridge. Turn LEFT at the first street and walk two blocks. Casa de Amistad is on the left hand side of the street.
Directions from the airport: The easiest way to get to us from the airport is to take a taxi (sorry, we are unable to provide pick-up service). They are located up the hill from outside the baggage claim.
This is a great video about Isabel II… the neighborhood we live in… supplied to us by our friends at www.viequestravel.com
