Andrea and Kipp from Cincinnati (with David... sporting new t-shirts) and Owen (why is the heavy-set one always in the back) at our favorite beach bar, Al's Mar Azul, just stumbling distance from Casa de Amistad. This lovely couple came to us by referral from Kipp's brother.... what's his name again????
Tara and Susan from Dayton and Cincinnati Ohio (no relation to Andrea and Kipp above) spent a week with us in Vieques. Every day a new beach and a new adventure.
Fun, fun and more fun. Bianca, Catherine and Cheryl were here for the BIG opening of the new town plaza. David and Owen were literally DRAGGED out to join them in the festivities... we had a great time showing them all the hot spots of downtown Isabel II. The Bar Plaza will never be the same (smile).
Andrew and Shannon from Columbus, OH. We had a great time bumping into them at secret beach (one of our favorites). Come visit us again... after the election!
David's friends and former work colleagues at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee came for a much needed break from the heart room. They had a great visit, but are newly refreshed and ready for Dr. Tweddell's patients... this photo was taken at our favorite watering hole down the street, Al's Mar Azul.
Jordan, Josh and Eli, from Minneapolis, well transplants to Minneapolis from Wisconsin, brought a bit of down home to the guesthouse. We expect another visit with the girlfriends next time.
David's sister Kim and her husband Earl came for a wonderful family vacation. We went EVERYWHERE and where did we do the web pic? Out in front of the guesthouse, of course... come back soon and we will take a photo from one of the beaches we went to.
Henry and Chloe with Mom and Dad, Kerry and Ron, from Edina, Minnesota had a great time exploring Vieques and snorkeling for the first time. You guys ROCK!
Our good friend Debi, from Milwaukee, joined us for a much needed sunny vacation. Pictured here with Mac, Owen, and David at Crow's Nest restaurant.
Bill (Portland), Theresa (Portland), Alex (Chicago), John and Clare (Portland), Roopa and Malcom (DC), Sean and David (NYC) all spent a week with us at Casa de Amistad... this is one of their days on one of the beaches... tough day, I think.
Drew, Fiona and Christina joined us for a few days... we loved the election discussions... it's always fun to agree on things....
Heesueng, who has been back several times to Vieques, and friends Dana and Carrie from Philadelphia enjoying a healthy morning snack...
Lisa and Gail from our neck of the woods (Madison, WI) escaped FROM Wisconsin this time. We had a great time talking about snow and cold while sipping ice cold beverages in the courtyard!!!...
The Keogh contingent... that would be Karen and Delbert from Tulsa, OK and Maggie and Bill from Rio Rancho, NM with our good friend and Vieques resident Don. Here they are enjoying another bottle of good wine and dinner at a nearby restaurant called Los Pepe's.
Michael, Stephanie, Ella and Jack Kosher... what a nice family vacation they had. Lots of new experiences to share at "show and tell"... do they still do that????
Clay and Richard from the coooooolllllld climate of Syracuse, NY enjoyed a few days of sun and surf. Note the NEW courtyard furniture in this photo... the style is early Martineau (story to follow).
Evan from Baltimore and Alicia from Providence via Venezuela get the prize for the best breakfasts. Here they are faking like they had time to watch TV in the TV room.
Eileen and Eric from Albany, NY proved that you really can do Vieques without a car... although, who would leave this cute couple on the side of the road...
Brian and Craig from Minneapolis (brrrrrrrrrrr) spent a few days beaching and relaxing... I wonder if everything arrived home ok... and where are all those shells displayed!!!
Kate, Kristen (from Brooklyn) and your's truly watching the world go by from the front porch...
Jonas and Crystle from Newport, Maine and DJ and Ruthie from Bangor, Maine had a typical Vieques vacation... lots of sun and surf... trust me, you will thank me for not letting you put that pretty snail in your suitcase!!!
Akila and Patrick from Atlanta Georgia kindly modeling the BRAND NEW Casa de Amistad T-shirts... hurry, they're flying off the shelves (the T-shirts, that is)
We had a nice visit with Daniela & Joey from Texas!
Kevin & Athena dappled in late afternoon sun at the pool... These two came from Washington, DC to spend time with us.
Here's Beth's Dad, Mac, sporting our first Casa de Amistad T-shirt sale! Mac and his wife Lucy are from Sarasota and have stayed with us at least four times!
Morning coffee will not be the same without these two! Amy & Kevin came all the way from Rising City, Nebraska to spend some quality time with us!
...Dan's brother, Richard, and sister-in-law, Lynn, spent a few wonderful days with us away from one of the worst Wisconsin winters ever!
Alex and Cheyenne from New Orleans are in the kitchen this morning eating left-overs from a fabulous Puerto Rican dinner!
Stephanie, Brian, Jack & Tammy in the pool on the day of Tammy's "vacation" birthday (she has another one when she's at home)!
Nestled between a few volcanic rocks, our favorite restaurant on the island, La Campasina, has reopened after being closed for a number of years. Here we are with our Milwaukee friends sharing a fabulous meal together!
Be careful of sea urchins!!! This is Bryan & Rani from Washington, D.C. Yesterday Rani stepped on a sea urchin at Green Beach... Yikes! (She has had a pretty cheerful attitude about it and is not going to let it ruin her vacation!)
Who says you have to come from out of the cold to appreciate the tropics? Oscar & Tammy are here visiting from Winter Park, Florida!
...Representatives from all over the globe! It's Oscar from Spain, Petra from Sweden, and Pauliina from Finland... We had a very nice visit with these three!
Janko & Christian from Brooklyn spent part of their time in the sun... and part of their time deep under the sea on a diving expedition!
It's a family affair at Casa Santiago (our rental house on the island). Jane and Dad came from Boston to meet brother, Paul, from San Francisco! These three had a great week on the island!
As you can see... there are many modes of travel in Puerto Rico! Sarah & Chris from Denver are backpacking their way back to Old San Juan for the second part of their journey!
...Off kayaking! This was Jeremiah's and Schalie's fourth visit to Vieques --and their second stay at Casa de Amistad! When they're not here they're in Kansas City, Missouri.
Oh, look! Even Mr. Iguana made a visit today! Here he is peeking out of the Chiminea.
